Jade Goody

The recent death of Jade Goody has got me thinking about whether all of the media attention that she received due to her illness was justified. On one hand it is a positive thing that she has received so much attention, as this has raised more awareness about cancer, particularly amongst young women. Also the money that she has earned through interviews, T.V shows etc will ensure that her sons are going to be well cared for (financially) in the future.

On the other hand there are hundreds of thousands of people who suffer from cancer each year who do not have the luxury of being able to know that they could receive top class treatment in private hospitals if they so wanted, and being able to know that their family will be well looked after if the worst should happen to them.
